Our Services

Progressive Psychiatric Services offers the following services

Psychiatric Evaluation

If you’ve been struggling with a mental health problem and you want to know what’s wrong, a psychiatric evaluation can help answer your questions. The goal of the psychiatric evaluation is to find out what your symptoms are, to rule out other causes for those symptoms, and to determine whether you meet the criteria for a diagnosis. You may be diagnosed with major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or some other condition. If you’ve already had a psychiatric evaluation, a new evaluation can help us adjust your treatment for better results. Whatever your situation, a psychiatric evaluation can help you get the answers you need and make sure you receive effective treatment. Your psychiatric evaluation will take between 30-90 minutes to complete.

Therapy

Our office offers a wide range of therapy types tailored to meet individual needs.

Clinicians are trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT),  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, Motivational Interviewing for life changes, Narrative Therapy for finding new meaning, Person-Centered Therapy for self-healing, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for goal-oriented individuals, and Strength-Based therapy to build resilience.  We also have a clinician who is skilled in  Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA); our clinicians can provide Clinical Supervision for professionals.  Whatever your needs, our team is here to support you with the right therapeutic approach.

Medication Management

After you’ve completed your evaluation, we may prescribe medication for you or adjust your existing prescriptions. As time goes by, we’ll keep meeting with you to make sure your medications are working, that side effects are under control, and that the dosage you’re taking is correct. Medication management is an essential part of mental health care because medications often need to be adjusted periodically. Different people respond differently to the same medications, and different medications interact with each other, which can affect the results. That’s why it’s important to communicate clearly and openly with us about whatever you’re experiencing, so we can make sure you’re taking the right medication in the right dosage to get the results you want. Our medication management appointments usually take 20 to 30 minutes.
